Since 1985, Hospice of Texarkana has provided compassionate care to thousands of patients and many times that number of family members. When is it time for Hospice Care? Our care is for those who have a life-limiting illness. Patients can be any age and have any diagnosis such as: Heart disease, lung disease, ALS, cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease or AIDS. Care should begin as early as possible to maximize the benefits of our physical and emotional care. A home visit by a staff member is a good way to receive information. Call 903-794-4263 any day of the week to arrange an informational visit. Can I ever stop Hospice care? Yes, at any time. You are in control. Can I keep my own doctor? Yes! In fact, your physician oversees our plan for your care. Often, your doctor is the person who refers you or your loved one to our nonprofit agency. If you do not have a doctor, our Medical Director will be happy to serve. What are some of your other Hospice Services? Only our patients can use the Hospice Care Center. Nurse on call 24/7 to support patients/caregivers. Medicine delivered to your home. Medical equipment provided including: hospital bed, lifts, oxygen, wheel chairs, shower stools, etc. Certified Nurses Assistants/Homemaker Aides assist with personal care and light housekeeping.
