HERO BX is engaged in the production and marketing of biodiesel at the Company’s facility located in Erie, Pennsylvania. HERO ... BX is managed by Erie Management Group, LLC and is owned by Black Family Holdings, LP. The Company was formed in September 2005 and began construction of its production facility in June 2006. HERO BX produced its first ASTM D6751 approved biodiesel on November 29, 2007. The Company has constructed a 45 million gallon per year capacity biodiesel plant that is designed to produce biodiesel from vegetable oils, animal fats or a multi-feedstock blend. The Company’s biodiesel plant is equipped with Desmet Ballestra designed continuous flow technology. HERO BX has achieved BQ-9000 accreditation as a producer from the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission. To receive this accreditation, the Company passed a rigorous review and inspection of its quality control processes by an independent auditor. HERO BX has a state of the art on-site laboratory to ensure adherence to the strict specifications of ASTMD6751 quality specifications.
