Helsingfors Segelsällskap Yacht Club or HSS, is the second oldest yacht club in Helsinki, established in 1893. The yacht club ... is the home for 1450 sailors and 350 boats. The club is located on the Liuskasaari island on the southernmost shore of Helsinki. Liuskasaari is a few minutes ferry ride away from Merisatamanranta. Helsingfors Segelsällskap is renowned for its large number of junior sailors, the AUDI HSS Sail Centre and the eighty boat strong classic fleet. The classic fleet consists of yachts mainly in the Metre and Skerry Cruiser boat classes. The club also harbours Golk Boats, Classic Dragons, Hai boats and Classic Cruising Yachts. The active HSS junior section with 150 youngsters in the age between 7 and 15. The optimist program is extended with a ten boat strong 29er Skiff-centre. The Olympic AUDI HSS Sail Center has a a fleet of 6 Elliott 6m boats, 8 Laser 16 boats, two monohull Americas Cup training boats - SM 40ies and six 606'ies.
