GTES, a community owned, not for profit, unlisted public company, was established in May 1985 and was known as Riverina Group ... Training Company. From humble beginnings GTES has grown to be the Riverina’s largest employer of apprentices and trainees and the company has achieved this thanks to a combination of community support, dedicated staff & Directors and quite simply, by providing a great service. The professionalism of the company has increased steadily over the years and this was reflected by the move in 2004 from leased premises to our very own, purpose-built Group Training Centre in Hammond Avenue, Wagga. This move also coincided with the name change to the acronym GTES, as the company had outgrown the Riverina tag by supplying apprentices into Victoria. For the record, GTES stands for Group Training Employment Specialists and is pronounced G-tess.
