The company started back in 1942 when Walter Grant bought the license for 2DU Dubbo, NSW. At the time he was famous for being ... the man who spent ten years battling beauracracy to get approval to increase the power of the station's output. He eventually won! In 1961, Walter's wife Christine took over the company. It stayed in Christine's hands until 1972 when our current Managing Director, Janet Cameron (daughter of Walter Grant) took the reins. Mrs Cameron is now approaching 40 years at the head of our company and will celebrate this remarkable milestone in 2012. By 1986, Grant Broadcasters owned four radio stations... in Parkes, Dubbo, Mudgee and Nowra NSW. Three of these stations were sold with only Nowra being kept in Grant Broadcasters hands. Before long, the company began a period of remarkable growth. First Muswellbrook was added to the Nowra station and today, in 2010, our network boasts that it now has interests in every Australian state and territory. Grant Broadcasters is a 100% Australian family-owned radio network under the direction of members of the Cameron family. Grant Broadcasters Pty Ltd is based in Crows Nest, Sydney. read more
