ABOUT GLOBAL NEXUS The Global Nexus program (GN) at Montgomery College promotes community and cultural integration through en ... gaged learning, partnerships, advocacy, and service. Initiated shortly after 9/11 (previously named “Arab American Heritage Month Program), in order to broaden inclusivity and celebrate various cultures. The Global Nexus program promotes critical and reflective thinking with regard to cultural representations and stereotypes. GN models reasoned discourse and debate. It provides a forum for the college community and the public to celebrate cultures, create authentic problem-solving, and break down cultural barriers and stereotypes. It also fosters increased understanding and mutual respect across national, cultural, and political boundaries. Each year a new theme provides the focus for outreach and engaged conversations, to strengthen student engagement through positive learning experiences.
