About us Global Energy Mentors (GEM) is dedicated to making early energy technology startups more successful. What we do? Our ... mentor teams, each with extensive relevant experience, assist early stage energy technology startup companies improve their chances of success by providing expertise in technical and commercial development. Our volunteers provide this service free of charge to qualifying clients who demonstrate consistent progress along a disciplined process. Our goal is to help the startup prepare for a major investor pitch and obtain funding. After funding, the GEM mentor’s role may change into one of compensated involvement, if requested by the startup. Why GEM? GEM has over 50 mentors which all have many years of hands-on experience in commercializing technological innovations in the energy industries. GEM mentors are motivated to share their extensive knowledge with energy technology startup founders who often have a technical background but may have limited knowledge of the many commercial and non-technical challenges that can cause failure. GEM’s assistance improves chances for success. How are we different? GEM’s level of expertise and depth and quality of mentoring is not readily available elsewhere. GEM delivers relevant industry-specific technical and commercial experience directly to the client through a mentoring process tailored and timed to meet the client’s needs.
