The son of a woodsman, Alessandro Gherardi is wild at heart like his land. He still loves seeking mushrooms with his dog, staying at home, looking after his large garden, tasting the good local wine. Simple, but very important values of a man travelling all around the world, from Italy to Europe, from USA to Korea and Japan. An enlightened entrepreneur holding tough the bond with his roots to make the trial to come stronger. Alessandro Gherardi’s fast ascension in becoming a leading role for men’s shirts, producing for the most important brands of menswear, is a challenge won through the perfect balance between high technology and craftsmanship. «The first step was considering the human factor. I asked the local tailors and embroiderers to pass down to our staff their skills and knowledge, so that their priceless cultural heritage could give a new life to our work. Our tailors sew by hand each shirt in its fundamental parts: buttonholes, application of buttons and finishing». Alessandro Gherardi also invested in high technology: «We possibly use Italian machinery, or else we choose international master companies like Toyota which built a totally computerized warehouse - a real masterpiece of information engineering». His office overlooks the tailoring department through a large window, a metaphor for his brand philosophy where tradition and innovation, past and future meet 100% Made in Italy. Today Gherardi produces and ships all over the World more than 500.000 shirts per Year: 250.000 for our Brands, 50.000 as M.t.M. and 200.000 as private label for the most exclusive European fashion brands.
