Gender Summit® began with a mission to improve quality of research and innovation, for all, through better understanding and ... inclusion of the gender dimension in the research process and of gender equality in STEM endeavours, based on research evidence and scientific consensus. Gender Summit® is a platform for dialogue where scientists, policy makers, gender scholars and stakeholders in science systems examine new research evidence showing when, why, and how biological differences (sex) and socio-cultural differences (gender) between females and males impact on outcomes. Together we are transforming the multi-stakeholder community that emerged in 2011 into a movement for making gender matter to science. The next event, GS10 Asia-Pacific, will be held in Tokyo on 25 - 26 May. GS11 North America will be held on 6 - 8 November 2017 in Montreal. Established in 2011, firstly as a European platform for dialogue, Gender Summit® has captured the imagination of scholars and policy makers in other world regions. With the help of leading science institutions in the regions, it expanded first to North America (where the Roadmap for Action for North America was produced through a collective effort of the 650 GS3NA participants). In April 2015 we were delighted to partner with the HSRC of South Africa to introduce the first Gender Summit® Africa. In August 2015 we held the very first Gender Summit® Asia-Pacific in Seoul. 2016 saw the Gender Summit® North and Latin America in Mexico City, which served also as a bridge to a dedicated Gender Summit® Latin America in the future. We have held 9 Summits since 2011; bringing together over 3000 participants and 550 contributors from over 50 countries, representing expertise and leadership in policy, gender scholarship, science decision making and industry.
