Gender Mainstreaming and Gender-sensitive Public Governance: Key work in this area advanced by Working Party on Gender Mainst ... reaming and Governance (GMG) aims to: 1) improve institutional capacities across the whole-of-government for gender mainstreaming in public policies/budgets/programmes; 2) increase strategic use of governance tools (e.g., public procurement, infrastructure, regulations) in a gender-sensitive manner to advance gender equality; 3) enhance the use of and coordination for gender-disaggregated data for evidence-based policymaking; 4) strengthen oversight and accountability for gender equality goals; and, 5) integrating gender considerations in policy evaluation processes. A steadily growing focus on how to integrate an intersectional lens in gender mainstreaming through developing a knowledge base on country approaches and guidance tools. Gender Equality in Public Leadership and Public Administration: This work aims to improve gender balance in leadership positions and gender equality in public institutions, including through the focus areas of gender equality impacts of workplace transformation and the use of behavioural insights.
