The FIRST and Only co-ed roller derby team in Hertfordshire, and the only League in the UK as of Dec 2012 with a dedicated fu ... ll time mixed team. Formed in October 2012 with a vision for a Roller Derby Team encompassing both male, female and mixed sex teams. We are striving to bring the ingrained roller derby community feel back to our own community. Our core aims are to promote sport in our local areas throughout Hertfordshire, by hosting regular events in Stevenage to showcase our teams, and also opening our doors to new members regularly. We are skilled at taking people who have no skating, no athletic or sporty background and of all shapes and sizes. Our experienced coaches are very much looking forward to bringing in skaters of all abilities and nurturing their inner Roller Derby Player. Whilst promoting sport to the community we also have various Non Skating roles which we are actively promoting, FMRD is run entirely by volunteers who book our training venues, organise publicity events, training and financial planning, not being able to skate is no reason to not get involved in Full Metal Roller Derby. We are also reviewing potential sponsorship offers and would encourage local businesses to get in touch and find out how FMRD can help to promote your business as we travel from town to town playing and seeing other teams live games.
