The Fordham Information Law Society (FILS) is an organization established and governed by students at Fordham University Scho ... ol of Law. Daniel Schwalbe '19 and Julia Baez Valentin '19, CIPP/US, initially founded FILS in 2018 as President and Vice President, respectively. The FILS continues to grow as an organization by and for future leaders of law and innovation. The FILS is focused on cybersecurity law, information law, AI, robotics, privacy and data protection, telecommunications, machine learning, deep learning, deep web, the relevant aspects of IP, and cutting-edge technology. The FILS intends to maximize the impact of the thought leadership that is prevalent throughout Fordham Law School's well-established network of faculty, alumni, students, and partners with a prescient coordination and engagement of emerging topics at the forefront of law. The FILS is involved in organizing speaker panels with industry experts, networking events with leading firms and organizations, professional development workshops with expert faculty, and the distribution of our newsletter.
