About First City Training First City Training was first established in January 2004, initially as an internal training depart ... ment to support our sister companies, First City Nursing Services and Ashgrove House Nursing Home. The department grew and internal training excelled. It soon became apparent that First City Training should expand and become an NVQ Centre. In November 2005 we received centre accreditation from City and Guilds to offer NVQs in Adult and Childcare Awards. The centre uses an electronic approach to assessment via a secure web based system for all qualifications. This system allows greater learner flexibility for providing evidence for their award according to their individual learning requirements. This system has proved to be very efficient and popular with learners, increasing learner achievements and learner confidence.
