FIMCAP is the international federation of catholic parochial youth movements, but even more a family of youth workers, youth ... and children all over the world. The abbreviation FIMCAP comes from the original French title : "Fédération Internationale des Mouvements Catholiques d'Action Paroissiale". FIMCAP originated in 1962. Today, there are 29 youth organizations part of the FIMCAP family, spread over 26 countries on 4 continents. These youth organizations bring children and youngsters together during their leisure time. There is a strong focus on the community and the local level: the member organizations consist of local groups, mostly set up in the neighborhoods and parishes where the children and youngsters live. This group life gives them the opportunity to play, to come together and to learn from other children and young people through non-formal education. read more
