FFME is also in charge of promoting and developing alpinism and mountain touring sport activities. FFME gathers~107,000 membership holders throughout~1,050 official clubs in France. FFME is a member of CNOSF (French national Olympic and sports committee), IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) and ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation).
