The Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP) is Switzerland's national centre of expertise on civil protection matters. It ... lays the groundwork for and coordinates efforts to protect the population in the event of a disaster or emergency. Its core responsibilities are risk analyses, alerting and warning the public, civil protection training, telematics, protective structures and NBC protection and disarmament. Thanks to its cooperation with cantonal, national and international partners, the FOCP has the necessary capabilities, technologies and infrastructures to mount a response to a disaster or emergency.
