The Faculty of Engineering Graduate Research Symposium (FEGRS) is an annual student-run event that is held on the University ... of Alberta engineering campus. FEGRS 2019 will occur on July 8th- 10th, 2019. It is a conference aimed at providing opportunities for students to present their research, network with industry, and improve their professional development skills. FEGRS 2019 will consist of oral and poster presentations, professional development workshops, invited keynote speakers, an industrial mixer, a research pitch competition, breakfast & lunch. Around 800 total students, professionals, and faculty/staff are expected to attend the event. This year's symposium will highlight two areas of strategic importance to the Faculty: Engineering resilient communities and Innovations in Engineering, which also align with government priorities around sustainable, low-carbon energy and health and wellness. This symposium is organized by an inter-departmental committee with representatives from Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. read more
