The "European Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (ESCTAIC)" dates back to 1989, and is an ... established forum for communication between the clinical disciplines of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine, and the technical disciplines including engineering and computer science. On average ESCTAIC meetings attract 150 participants. The meetings are always a mixture of scientific work, the exchange of ideas, practical advice and small talk with good friends in an informal atmosphere. This tradition is one of the strengths of a small focused society where newcomers are as welcome as experts. The meetings include prominent speakers, tutorials and workshops in ESCTAIC's key topic areas. In addition, ESCTAIC meetings often provide CME accreditation for the Anaesthetist or Intensivist. For those wishing to publish, all abstracts resulting from annual meetings are published in the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing. For industry the combination of practicing clinicians, scientists and technology developers provides a forum for discussion with customer and developer alike. MEMBERSHIP is open to anyone interested in computing and technology in anaesthesia and intensive care and offers these advantages: - As a member of ESCTAIC you have access to other members in most European countries. Our experts in field discuss a wide range of topics related to technology in medicine. - For the annual meetings of ESCTAIC, members pay a reduced congress fee. This reduction is typically higher than the annual fee for the society. - Members of ESCTAIC have the right to vote in the Annual General Meeting. They can also become officers on the Executive Board. The annual membership fee for ESCTAIC is EUR 30 / USD 50 and is used purely for the administration of basic membership lists, to cover postage costs and the costs of distributing information. read more
