EORLA laboratories provide diagnostic testing to both hospital inpatients and registered outpatients, performing a total of approximately 12 million tests annually. Comprehensive testing in the disciplines of Anatomic Pathology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Transfusion Medicine, Hematopathology, and Microbiology/Virology is performed. All EORLA laboratories are accredited by Ontario Laboratory Accreditation (OLA) and The Ottawa Hospital Tissue Typing Laboratory is accredited by the American Society for Histocompatability and Immunogenetics (ASHI). Laboratory staff includes over 800 Medical Laboratory Technologists and Medical Laboratory Assistants along with approximately 65 Medical/Scientific staff. read more
