Germany, with the aim of providing a forum for the professional development of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.Since its inception, ELTAS has grown into a recognised body registered under German law as a nonprofit-making charitable association (gemeinnütziger e.V.). To support the teaching of English as a foreign language, ELTAS promotes: Professional Development Continuous Improvement Commitment to Quality ELTAS is run entirely by volunteers who give their time to organise activities and provide information, advice and support to ELTAS members and the community. A steering Committee is elected on an annual basis. ELTAS regularly holds workshops, lectures and other events of interest to the teaching profession. We have close to 200 individual and institutional members, the majority of which live and work in the Baden-Württemberg area of Germany.
