THE FUTURE OF BIOECONOMY IS IN DOMSJÖ At the beginning of the new millennium, we start the journey towards a biorefinery. Our ... goal was to make more from the tree, to create sustainable products from the forest. Today our main product, cellulose, can be found in beautiful viscose clothes but also in medicine tablets, hygiene products and various provisions. We also make bioethanol used in green chemicals and lignin, a natural additive in concrete. About a couple of years ago, we are part of the Indian Aditya Birla Group, the world's largest producer of viscose fiber. We develop the future textile materials, from spruces of north Sweden to the catwalks worldwide. Together with our customers we want to make a difference. We are already currently involved in creating a sustainable bioeconomy that utilizes forest as the unique resource that it is. We make more from the tree. The turnover is SEK 1.6 billion and the number of employees are 400 in Domsjö and 15 in the Baltic daughter companie; Domse Latvija. read more
