DCE is Aarhus University’s central unit for knowledge exchange within the areas of nature, environment, climate and energy. D ... CE delivers science-based advice and solutions that help greening of the economy and promote sustainable growth at both local, national and international scale. Among our customers are the Danish Ministry of the Environment and Food, the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate, Greenland's Government, the Danish municipalities, private businesses and the European Commission. DCE’s quality assurance (QA) ensures the high quality of our products. Quality assurance at DCE is one of Aarhus University’s internal QA systems to ensure that public sector consultancy maintains the same high quality as the university’s research. The procedures and overall frameworks for Aarhus University’s QA efforts are available in a memorandum on quality assurance of the research-based public sector consultancy (February 2010). DCE’s QA procedures encompass chemical analyses, including sampling and in situ measurements, as well as professional consultancy. The chemical analyses, including sampling and in situ measurements, have been accredited by DANAK – the Danish national body for accreditation of laboratories – in accordance with the European standard ISO 17025: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The quality assurance of academic consultancy is based on the European standard ISO 9001: Quality management systems, but has not been certified in accordance with the standard. DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy has been reorganised from the former National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) which was closed on 30 June 2011.
