As a student in this program, you will develop cybersecurity, networking and data management skills that are highly desired by the area’s largest employers, including Wellmont Health System, Northrop Grumman, Frontier Secure and Mountain State Health Alliance, to name just a few. The certificate also allows current IT/Networking professionals to test for CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker and GIAC-GSEC certifications at no additional cost—a value of almost $2,700. Currently, Virginia ranks ahead of all other states in cybersecurity-related job opportunities. In addition, the Commonwealth’s job growth in the field is expected to reach 25% by the year 2022, outpacing the expected national average of 15% over the same time period.
