Charles Macbeth and Dirk Needham started CTM with a small portfolio of 113 units covering and specializing in San Diego County. The company soon moved its corporate office to Carlsbad, California and expanded into other Southern California counties to provide quality management services for owners referred by clients. By 1989, the CTM portfolio grew to 400 units, consisting primarily of smaller apartment buildings and single-family homes.
