COVID-19 Coming Together is a Vancouver based group of volunteers who are determined to help those in need by connecting them ... with neighbours and peers who can lend a helping hand during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have established a Facebook group (COVID-19 Coming Together Vancouver) which now contains over 30,000 B.C. residents in need of or who are able to provide help. We have also created a website (comingtogethervancouver.org) which allows everyone to have access to a method of contacting other British Columbians who have been impacted by this pandemic. Our COVID-19 Survival Fund (https://cutt.ly/6tU4L92) has garnered nearly $60,000 in donations and delivers cash to families and individuals enduring economic hardship as a result of the pandemic. COVID-19 is creating unprecedented interruptions to our day-to-day lives and poses a threat to many of our community members. The elderly and immuno-compromised are unable to leave their homes to receive essential products, those who have symptoms are stuck at home as they are worried about spreading their sickness, and some people who are suffering from mental illness just need someone to talk to. All of these people benefit greatly from our service which gives them the opportunity to connect with someone who can fulfill their needs.
