The CSA focuses on sustainability criteria that are both industry-specific and financially material and has been doing so since 1999. The results of the S&P Global CSA serve a wide range stakeholders and applications ranging from indices to asset management as well as company benchmarking. The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is the basis to select companies into different sustainability-focused indices, including the world-famous Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) or the family of S&P DJI ESG indices including the S&P 500 ESG. Companies can also elect to use their CSA participation as a basis for an ESG Evaluation by S&P Global Ratings.
