Just in the past few years, the Cornell Republicans have hosted Allen West, Ben Carson, Ward Connerly, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Steve Forbes, and Dick Cheney.. We have also debated the Cornell Democrats on topics such as economic policy and social issues. In order to ingrain ourselves in the national context and to participate in the largest gathering of conservatives in America, we have participated in the Conservative Political Action Conference, where we have met John Thune, Jim DeMint, and Michelle Bachmann, among others, and heard the likes of Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Ron Paul, and Donald Rumsfeld.
