Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) was founded in 1939 by a group of Coos County, Oregon, residents who wanted to p ... rovide electricity to residents in their rural service territory environment. At the time, the concept of community ownership meant local people working together to meet local needs. That concept or philosophy still guides everything we do today. Nearly 75 years later, this non-profit cooperative serves approximately 14,000 members with over 17,000 meters in Curry County and portions of Coos and Douglas Counties; and 1,634 miles of line, including 54 miles of transmission line between Gold Beach and Brookings. CCEC serves members in the rural areas east and south of Coos Bay in Coos County, a portion of Douglas County and all of Curry County except for the town of Langlois. Headquartered in Port Orford, Oregon, CCEC has area business offices in Port Orford, Coquille, Gold Beach and Brookings. read more
