In 1992, Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL) was formed by the Lubbock Indigent Healthcare Coalition to respond to the ... growing needs of the medically under-served. This coalition was made up of many individuals and organizations from across Lubbock. Over time, the needs of the community grew and, in November 2001, CHCL began providing direct patient care to accommodate this growth. In September 2004, the Chatman and Parkway Clinics became part of CHCL. The Community Dental Clinic began seeing patients in March 2005 and, in July 2008, construction on the Arnett Benson Medical and Dental Clinic was completed. After receiving New Access Point funding, CHCL opened the 96 West Clinic in February 2012 and West Medical and Dental Clinic in April 2012. Since 1998, CHCL has been accredited by The Joint Commission, which is the accrediting body for healthcare organizations across the world. Many members of the Board of Directors live in the under-served areas and have experienced firsthand the needs of our patients. CHCL's mission is to "provide quality primary and preventive healthcare services to those in need." We do so through a commitment to our values - teamwork, service, and excellence. read more
