OUR STORY... We were born from the vision of a tax attorney. Huh? Yes, a tax attorney. Fifteen years ago, a bored internation ... al tax attorney who, instead of having her head properly buried in the tax code, dreamed of a job where she could play with children, color, go stocking footed and make crazy animal noises all day long. All in the process of making treasured black & white and hand-tinted portraits of her young friends. Julie Floyd, our founder, followed her dream and has never looked back. Julie always says that her greatest talent is attracting incredibly talented people. First was business partner, great friend, fellow mommy and photographer in the San Francisco studio, Runa Magowan. Next came Lynn Natalie, Katie, Lisa J., Lisa V., Megan, Melissa, Michelle and Amasett. Each has trained extensively with Julie and many a late night latte has been shared where the proper "peek-a-boo" (you must hit the first syllable hard) or the subtleties of the most effective monkey call (always funny, never scary) have been debated. Classic Kids is a consortium of elite child photographers who share a common vision and uncommon style. We are alike in our gratitude for the gift of spending our days working with children while creating treasured artwork for our clients' homes. We work closely together as a group to perfect our art. We share our multitude of creative experiences in order to learn from each other and push the boundaries of child photography. Our goals are simple. We want to produce fabulous photographs and we want each photo shoot to be a blast for both kids and parents. Kids and their families are all that we do. We shoot only black & white film.
