City of Bristol Rowing Club (CoBRC) is a successful and growing, city centre sports club. It has been based in Bristol docks ... for 70 years, although rowing has been an active sport in the area for much longer. Its roots are in the 1950's docker's social clubs when Bristol had a working dock. In the last twenty years membership of the club has doubled. In 2021 there are around 270 members aged from 12 to 75, enjoying regular rowing on the docks. The club competes and participates at every level in the rowing world. • Teaching complete beginners to row on the very popular ‘learn to row’ course • Providing team-building courses to companies through the ‘corporate row’ event and regatta • Working with local schools to encourage participation in the sport • Encouraging and developing a successful junior squad • A growing women’s squad including senior, masters, novice and recreational teams. Our racing squads regularly compete and win local events at all levels. The senior women compete annually at Henley women’s regatta. • A strong and competitive men’s squad including senior, masters, novice and recreational teams. Our senior men target and compete at Henley Royal Regatta every year. The club has plans to develop a new boathouse and is currently fundraising. read more
