Since our inception, our vision has been: -The development of precision gene editing technologies for agriculture that does n ... ot use transgenes or recombinant DNA with which to develop trait products that were indistinguishable from traditional breeding (or nature); and -A more efficient and targeted breeding industry regarding specific characteristics like disease resistance based on (non-GMO) precision gene editing technologies that is globally regulated on the same basis as conventional breeding. In the era of global GMO restrictions, GMO markets were limited and, when available, GMO traits were both expensive and time consuming to breed and commercialize. We founded Cibus with the firm belief that the development of precision gene editing technologies was achievable and, once achieved, it would enable our second goal: a new era for agricultural trait development with global agricultural trade standards for both in-country cultivation and import/export regulations. The promise of global standards is a new era of global crop breeding innovations that would mirror the global genomic revolution in human healthcare. Our mission is to harness the power of precision gene editing in agriculture and, in so doing, make farming more environmentally friendly, sustainable and profitable.
