In 1946, Chick-fil-A's founder, Truett Cathy, opened his first restaurant, a small restaurant called the Dwarf Grill, in Hape ... ville, Georgia, just south of the Atlanta Airport. Years later, in 1967, after inventing and perfecting his Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Truett became a pioneer in the quick service restaurant industry by opening his first - and the first of its kind - Chick-fil-A Restaurant in a shopping mall. Since then, the Chick-fil-A system has experienced more than 48 years of positive sales growth and has expanded to more than 2,000 locations in the 43 states and the District of Columbia. We are one of those many locations. Our Owner is Jason MacDonald. It is very important that we understand where Jason and Audree started from so that we can pass the legacy. They were married in 2003 in Columbia, SC. They both worked for various organizations while Jason Attended the University of South Carolina. In 2005, Jason graduated from college. Upon completion of his degree Jason continued working until the summer of 2006 where he sat down with his wife to find that lasting career. They just welcomed their first child in June and by August they moved to Anderson, SC where they started working for Jon Holmes who was a Chick-fil-A Operator over 3 restaurants. Jason worked under Jon until 2010 when he joined Corporate Chick-fil-A to start in the Interim Manager program. This put him one step closer to becoming a Chick-fil-A Owner. He worked in at several Chick-fil-A’s across the country until he was selected for The Layton Hills Mall restaurant in November of 2011. In February of 2012 Audree was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In July of 2012 Audree beat the cancer and has been cancer free ever since. Jason was selected on June 15th to be the Owner/Operator of the new Chick-fil-A being built in Orem. August 28th, 2014 Chick-fil-A Orem Plaza FSU opened its doors for the first time! Jason and Audree have been hard at work, not only selling, but impacting the lives of hundreds of current and former team members. These team members are now members of the community that have a vested interest in Chick-fil-A and do not want to see its value diminished. We are now part of that legacy.
