We focus our research on many sectors of global strategic importance, including digital manufacturing and robotics, human factors and cognitive psychology, mobile and social computing, artificial intelligence (AI). We have built on our renowned research excellence from three of Cardiff University’s schools: School of Engineering, School of Computer Science and Informatics, and School of Psychology. By bringing together this collective expertise under one banner, we have maximised our expertise by driving forward innovations that tackle some of the most pressing societal challenges. We are part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through Welsh Government, and Cardiff University. Our centre aims to target new opportunities emerging within artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and human-machine systems, with an ambition to develop fundamental and applied knowledge and to train future experts in challenging multidisciplinary areas. We have established four research themes which encompass a broad spectrum of priorities.
