The CCTN is currently developing several high profile clinical trials in association with leading diabetes researchers at partner universities and medical centers in Southern Ontario. Our goal is to position Southern Ontario as an international hub for diabetes translational research, innovation, and commercialization of new therapeutics and enabling technologies. From the world-changing discovery of insulin by Sir Fredrick Banting and Dr. Charles Best to the more recent breakthrough in islet transplantation known as the "Edmonton Protocol," Canadians have made an immeasurable impact upon the lives of those with diabetes.
