The Lobby Days Caucus at Cal State LA is a student led on-campus organization that facilitates undergraduate (BSW) and gradua ... te (MSW) level social work students (including students from other fields of study) the ability to attend the annual National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Legislative Lobby Days Event. There, students can meet their legislators and other important members of the policy process and have the ability to speak to them about the issues that are important to them and their clients'. In preparation for this yearly event, we also encourage discovery and research of policies that impact their communities and envision ways to change them for the better. We do this by operating and facilitating fundraisers to help minimize some of the costs that a student would incur if they attended the event on their own. Through our fundraising efforts, we minimize the cost for the students to attend the NASW Legislative Lobby Days event at our state capitol in Sacramento, California. read more
