The aims of the Bulgarian Society at the University of Surrey are to promote and broaden the understanding of the Bulgarian c ... ulture and heritage and to enhance the relationship and connection among Bulgarian students by providing a forum for communication with and among themselves. We also recognize the importance of facilitating the integration of Bulgarian and non-Bulgarian freshers into the life of the University and we aim at doing so through: induction/‘welcome' events, dance classes, sport matches/tournaments and interactive and multicultural meetings/gatherings. In addition, where possible, the Bulgarian Society will reach out and provide support and insight at informative talks/lectures about any available opportunities regarding the life on campus and in Guildford and networking establishing further opportunities for after leaving uni. A Bulgarian citizenship or descent is not required in order to become a member or join in our events, rather just a general interest, an open mind, and a desire to make new friends and have fun. read more
