Buggypower facilities are located in Porto Santo island in a strategic point where the water of the Atlantic Ocean is pure, the annual temperature fluctuations are minimal and where solar radiation is optimal for the cultivation of microalgae. Currently Buggypower holds one of Europe's biggest production plants in closed systems (1100 cubic meters with an average annual production 60 t of dry biomass), with a strong initial investment in partnership with our strategic partner, the Electricity Company of Madeira (EEM). Buggypower patented production technology is based on the use of air-lift closed photobioreactors 8 meters high and arranged to optimize solar capture and bacteriological control, for maximum biomass quality.
