The Brownlee brothers entered into the hardwood lumber industry with humble beginnings with the purchase of a log skidder and a log truck. Their hard work and determination paid off and the company grew quickly. Within a few years of operation, the company consisted of multiple logging crews and a fleet of trucks. Working as contractors for area sawmills, the brothers decided it was time to expand the business even further. In 1978, a sawmill was built. Lumber production at the Brownlee sawmill rose steadily, and in 1985 the company expanded by constructing a kiln drying operation to further process material. Today, BLC is a family-owned and independently operated modern complex of sawmills, dry kilns, and planer mill in the heart of the most beautiful hardwood forests in the world.
