We employ a team of over 100 care workers with a diverse range of skills. We have an active programme of training for carers in the areas of end of life care, dementia, muscular dystrophy, learning difficulties and spinal cord injury. In each of these specialist areas we have a subject matter expert (SME) so that we have a clear process in place for knowledge transfer and support. As an example, our SME for end of life care (which typically involves double handed calls) makes herself available to our team of trained palliative carers and is the lead carer on a large percentage of the visits. A great deal of time and effort goes into selecting the right people for the job, and all of the care staff we recruit attend a comprehensive induction programme delivered by our Care Manager. Ongoing training is equally important to us and we are committed to the continuing professional development of our staff, including giving support to those who wish to pursue industry related qualifications.
