Our History Bay State Savings Bank's roots extend back to 1895, when 114 spirited citizens of Worcester gathered together and ... pledged a total of $7,660 to establish a new savings bank in the city. They made good on that pledge, and on May 16, 1895, Bay State Savings opened its doors for business on Main St. in Worcester.
