The Basel Institute on Governance is an independent not-for-profit competence centre working around the world with the public ... and private sectors to counter corruption and other financial crimes and to improve the quality of governance. Our four operational divisions provide specialist expertise within a unique, holistic approach to tackling corruption and other financial crimes: * Our International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR) helps partner countries recover stolen assets from abroad, build capacity and strengthen legal and policy frameworks. * Our International Centre for Collective Action (ICCA) promotes anti-corruption Collective Action as a means to tackle corruption and hosts the B20 Collective Action Hub. * Our Division for Corporate Governance and Compliance works with companies to analyse, review and strengthen their governance and compliance processes to prevent and/or recover from corruption-related crises. * Our Division for Public Governance conducts research, delivers courses and develops preventative evidence-based approaches to tackling corruption. Our country office in Peru implements a Public Finance Management programme for Peruvian subnational governments, builds local capacity to prevent corruption and provides technical assistance on asset recovery cases.
