BRABUS Marine represents an alliance between two of the most renowned companies in their respective genres, bringing together Axopar Boats and the long-established, high-performance luxury automotive car producer BRABUS to redefine luxury day boating. Axopar, originally the brainchild of two principal founding partners Mr. Jan-Erik Viitala and Mr. Sakari Mattila, both with careers with other Nordic boating brands. Together with naval architect and designer, Jarkko Jämsen, founding partner of Aivan design agency, the creation of Axopar Boats was the net result of many years’ worth of combined experience. A real sea change happened when Mr. Mattila took it upon himself to resign from daily operational activities in 2016. After this he was no longer in an active role, nor did he contribute in the further development of the future models, with his withdrawal in 2017 ending up with him disposing of his shares in beginning of 2018. From 2017 forward, a new phase of growth at Axopar commenced, by building a professional organization around its business. Company executives including the CEO Mikael Heikfolk, together with Mr Viitala, the management and design team, have stayed true to the original concept and set about developing the brand, new innovations and models.
