ATHINAIKI SA, founded in its current form in January 2010, is the evolution of ATHINAIKI Ltd operating since 1969 in the Gree ... k market of national forwarding and distribution of general cargo. It is a family owned, privately operated business currently occupying 92 employees, in its 7 nationwide branches. The main center of distribution and offices are in Magoula Attiki, near Athens, while the rest of the branches are strategically positioned in the cities of Thessaloniki, Larisa, Lamia, Patra, Ioannina and Herakleion Creta, providing through these branches 80% coverage of the national commercial market, while the rest is covered through a network of dedicated agents in more than 30 cities across the country. After the recent law passed in Greece in September 2010, the company has the right to operate with owned trucks – as opposed to hired ones as used to be the case – and at this point ATHINAIKI SA has 23 distribution and forwarding trucks across the country, while it is on the process of acquiring more in order to decrease the ratio of hired to owned to 1 to 5. At the same time we seek strategic partnerships with firms of the broader transportation and logistics market and also solid business relations with both international and local clients. For the year 2020 we have a planning of opening at least two more branches, in the cities of Kalamata and Rhodes, and most importantly a scheduled upgrade of our IT services, which is a sector that opposed to the rest of Europe, is not evolved at a satisfactory level in the Greek forwarding market. The completion of this project, which is estimated to be fully read more
