Associazione Culturale Careni is a non profit organization that runs a movie theater in Pieve di Soligo, Italy. The organizat ... ion is keeping up the theater exclusively with the work of 150 volunteers, all aged from 16 to 30, who love movie culture and in name of this love do all the tasks required (projection, programme, advertising, tickets and snacks selling, ushers, accounting etc.) for free. Members are over 5000. Ticket price is 5.50 euro. All the profits are donated to charity projects. ACC is building a village in Burundi, central Africa ("Villaggio Careni") and supporting some other local initiatives. Since Associazione was born, in 2004, it has donated over 100.000$. ACC also funds and organizes side projects, always movie related, for culture spreading about subjects loved by its volunteers: Italian Constitution, history, photography, sports and, almost, everything concerning knowledge. read more
