The AEngD is a community of Engineering Doctorate providers, researchers, sponsors, EngD alumni and other stakeholders in the ... EngD 'brand'. The Association of Engineering Doctorates is a community engaged in research in engineering and related disciplines. It encourages high calibre research engineers (REs) to undertake EngD programmes at Industrial Doctorate Centres (IDCs), funded by EPSRC with backing from UK industry sponsors, many of them companies at the leading edge of innovative thinking and practice. It was established to (among other things): - support EngD brand-building, including acceptance and recognition of Engineering Doctorate (EngD) degrees within host institutions and industry - promote excellence and maintain quality of EngD degrees - develop wider and more strategic industrial research collaboration - identify and promote the benefits and impacts from EngD research - attract and recruit high calibre Research Engineers (REs) - encourage strong academic engagement - promote co-operation between members of the Association, including the development of an effective network - provide a forum for the sharing and exchange of best practice and non-competitive information - promote international engagement and adoption of the EngD qualification EngD programmes provide a challenging, multi-disciplinary and academically rigorous education and training experience, leading to a recognised post-graduate research qualification - equal to a PhD. read more
