Ascension’s parent company, AGM Container Controls, Inc., was founded in 1970. In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ... ADA) was enacted to help remove barriers and empower people of all different levels of mental and physical abilities. In 1992, to help our nation fulfill the ADA, AGM began producing premium wheelchair lifts. AGM’s wheelchair lift product line was so successful that Ascension was established as its own division a mere three years later, in 1995. Ever since its inception, Ascension has been devoted to designing and manufacturing the finest wheelchair lifts in the world. Our very first wheelchair lifts were the portable “Spect-A-Lift” and “SLA” Model Series in the 1990s. These models featured no machine tower, plenty of window area, quiet operation, and high reliability. The portable Ascension Virtuoso Model Series was introduced in 2005, which incorporated significant innovations, such as rigid safety skirting and a slim-profile car floor. The first permanently-installed Ascension Virtuoso shipped in 2008. In 2011, the first portable Ascension Protégé lifts shipped, closely followed by the first permanently-installed Protégé shipments in 2012. Ascension continues to innovate with a new lift model series. This model will incorporate a full enclosure that is clear on three sides, into a lift that will rise up to 14 feet. AGM is also proud to be an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. Our employee owners welcome the opportunity to serve you. From our friendly, knowledgeable product specialists, to our professional engineering and R&D support, to our quality products and 100% on-time delivery, our goal is for your experience with us to be pleasant and rewarding from your first phone call through your entire ownership experience. read more
