Since 1980, and under the leadership of Prof. Rafael Serra Florensa, a Research Team was created at the School of Architectur ... e of Barcelona, specialized in architecture and energy issues. The group works on the effect of energy on architectonic spaces and cities, as elements of the environment. The approach considered puts a special focus on the environmental comfort, form the aesthetic point of view never forgetting the energetic point of view. The research group includes professors (architects, physicists and engineers), post graduate students and junior researchers. The group activity also develops field work and, therefore, AiEM has an equipment specifically oriented to the architecture and energy field. These resources incoporate calculation, production and simulation programs together with measurement instruments (light, thermal and acoustic), necessary for the proper development of our projects. read more
