Founded in 1981 by the first and only Secretary of the Navy of Hispanic descent, the Honorable Eduardo Hidalgo, it has supported the Sea Service Chiefs in the recruitment, retention and promotion of its members for over 40 years. The vision of Secretary Hidalgo was to have a Sea Service leadership corps, admirals and generals, master chiefs and sergeants major, that reflect the diverse face of our nation.
