As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris on the idea of creating a unified Europe, based on democracy and a respect for human rights, bringing together students with different cultural backgrounds this network provides the ideal platform for young volunteers to work together on cross-border activities such as international conferences, seminars, exchanges, training courses and case study trips. Today AEGEE has grown to a network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.
